1. Scope

This policy describes how we collect, use, share and protect personal data when you use the myAiSchool website, mobile experiences and related services (the "Platform"). It is published in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and applicable Indian law.

2. Information we collect

• Account data: name, email, phone number, password (hashed), role (student / parent / teacher / school admin / partner), board, class and target exam.
• Learning data: courses you enrol in, attempts, scores, time-on-task, AI tutor chat history and other progress signals used to personalise learning.
• Payment metadata: plan, amount, transaction status, Razorpay order/payment IDs. We do not store full card numbers or UPI credentials — those are handled directly by Razorpay.
• Device & usage data: IP address, browser and OS, pages visited, referrer, error logs.
• Communications: messages you send to support over email, WhatsApp or in-app chat.

3. Children & parental consent

A significant portion of our learners are minors (under 18). For learners under the age of 18, the Platform must be used with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian. For learners under 13, we additionally require verifiable parental consent before collecting personal data, and we do not show behavioural advertising to children. Parents and guardians may at any time contact us to access, correct or delete their child's data.

4. How we use your information

• To provide, secure and improve the Platform and personalise learning.
• To process payments, issue receipts and manage subscriptions.
• To communicate about your account, content updates, results and support.
• To share progress with parents, teachers and partner institutions where you have an associated account (e.g. school admin or class teacher).
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

5. Third-party processors

• Razorpay — payment processing.
• Cloud hosting & CDN providers — to operate the Platform.
• Analytics & communications tools — to understand usage and send notifications.
• AI model providers — to power the AI tutor and grading. Inputs may be sent to these providers under their data protection terms.

We sign appropriate data-processing terms with our processors and limit their access to what is needed to perform the service.

6. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to meet legal, accounting and audit requirements. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 8); we will retain only what we are legally required to keep (e.g. tax records).

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and regular review of our systems. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.

8. Your rights

• Right to access the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure of data we no longer need.
• Right to withdraw consent and to nominate a representative under the DPDP Act.
• Right to lodge a grievance with the Grievance Officer (below).

9. International transfers

Data is primarily stored in India. Where third-party processors operate outside India, transfers occur in compliance with applicable law and only to jurisdictions permitted under the DPDP Act.

10. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for login sessions, preferences and basic analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Platform may not function correctly without them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the Platform or by email. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
